Everybody My Age Poem
Everybody my age went to the Calgary Stampede
Everybody my age has a car or their license
Everybody my age has friends they hang out with every day
Everybody my age has money to spend
Everybody my age has been to a bar or party to get wasted
Why is it that everybody my age seems to have a cooler life than me?
But you know what?
Everybody my age thinks I’m smarter than them
Everybody my age thinks I have a cooler mom than them
Everybody my age thinks I have friends that are better than them
Everybody my age thinks I wear makeup
Everybody my age thinks my life is better than theirs
And it makes sense that they can’t see the reality
Because the only people we see our age
Are through a screen
